Since 1992 Salle Santa Cruz has been hosting the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Open, sponsored in part by the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and Dr. Alan Buchwald. Since 2005, working in conjunction with the UCSC fencing club, the Boardwalk open has been hosted on the UCSC campus.

Some of the proceeds from co-hosting the Boardwalk Open go to support the UCSC fencing club and by using the UCSC facilities the Boardwalk Open has become one of the premier events in the Pacific Coast Section. The PCS circuit has events in Long Beach CA, Chico CA, Santa Cruz, CA, Las Vegas NV, and Honolulu HI. For more on PCS visit thier website at PCS Fencing

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk tournament is open to all United States Fencing Association members. You can get a USFA membership by visiting the USFA site, or signing up the day of the tournament for a fee payable to the USFA.
